Michael Madsen speaks out following death of son Hudson

Actor Michael Madsen, known for films like Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, has spoken publicly about the tragic loss of his son, Hudson Madsen, who died in January 2022 at age 26 from a gunshot wound, classified as a suspected suicide by Honolulu authorities.

The Madsen family expressed their devastation and requested privacy. Michael described being in shock, recalling Hudson’s final text: “I love you dad.” He shared that Hudson showed no visible signs of depression and had been optimistic about his future. Michael believes Hudson struggled after his time in the U.S. Army, particularly after being mocked for seeking mental health support. Hudson served in Afghanistan from August 2018 to January 2019 and was later stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. At the time of his death, he was living in Hawaii with his wife, Carlie, and his marriage was reportedly strong. The family continues to mourn the unexpected and heartbreaking loss.
