Renowned author Stephen King, known for his mind-bending novels, made a surprising return to Twitter this week after announcing in November 2024 that he would leave due to the platform’s toxic atmosphere. His return was marked by a brief post: “I’m baaaack! Did you miss me?”
Just minutes later, King didn’t hold back, targeting both Donald Trump and Twitter owner Elon Musk. In a blunt tweet, he called Trump a “traitorous, Putin-loving dips**t” and directed the same sentiment toward Musk.
King’s return seems focused on voicing his disapproval of Trump and Musk’s collaboration, especially as Musk has been given significant influence in the White House, though the administration later clarified his role as a senior adviser with no authority over the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
