Three months after Freddie Freeman was placed on the family emergency list due to his 3-year-old son Maximus falling ill, he was named the World Series MVP. Following the Los Angeles Dodgers’ championship victory over the New York Yankees, Freeman opened up about Max’s battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS).

Freeman expressed profound emotions regarding his son’s hospitalization, stating, “I would gladly strike out with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning in Game 7 of the World Series 300 million times in a row than see that again.” He provided an update on Max, saying, “He’s on his way. It’s going to be a long road.”

Social media erupted with praise for Freeman’s resilience. One fan, identifying as a die-hard Yankee supporter, shared, “Freddie Freeman gained a fan in me… the way you love your family and played through it all is incredible. Prayers for Max.” Another remarked on Freeman’s journey, emphasizing that he deserved the MVP title for overcoming so much during the postseason.
