Within two days, he came home in tears, begging for help to stop the abuse.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1296\" data-end=\"1451\">McCann revealed a pattern of verbal and physical bullying \u2014 from taunts and isolation to a horrifying alleged attempt to drown Atreyu during a school camp.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1453\" data-end=\"1474\"><strong data-start=\"1453\" data-end=\"1474\">Warnings Unheeded<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1476\" data-end=\"1762\">Despite filing at least ten formal complaints with the school and the NSW Department of Education, Clare says little was done.<br data-start=\"1602\" data-end=\"1605\" \/><em data-start=\"1605\" data-end=\"1633\">\u201cThey just destroyed him,\u201d<\/em> she said through tears. <em data-start=\"1658\" data-end=\"1762\">\u201cIn a moment of immense pain, he just did something \u2014 because I think he didn\u2019t know what else to do.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1764\" data-end=\"1925\">After Atreyu confided suicidal thoughts in April, Clare withdrew him from school and sought professional help.
