In a touching tribute first revealed in 2012, British man Howard Howes<\/strong> honored his late wife, Janet<\/strong>, by planting thousands of oak trees across a six-acre field near his farm in Wickwar, Gloucestershire<\/strong>. At the heart of the forest lies a heart-shaped meadow<\/strong>, carefully positioned to point toward Wotton Hill<\/strong>, where Janet grew up.<\/p>\n

Howard and Janet married in 1962<\/strong>, and after Janet passed away in 1995<\/strong> at age 50 from heart failure, Howard conceived the idea of a living memorial. He planted thousands of oak trees around the perimeter, leaving a clearing in the shape of a heart. A seat was placed within the clearing so he could sit and reflect on their life together.<\/p>\n

For years, the forest remained a secret until Andy Collett<\/strong>, a hot air balloon enthusiast, flew overhead and discovered the heart from the sky. Collett called it the most remarkable view he had ever seen\u2014\u201ca hidden expression of love.\u201d<\/p>\n

The meadow is only accessible via a track leading to the heart\u2019s tip. Howard hired helpers for the planting and framed the heart with hedges. Each spring, daffodils<\/strong> bloom in the center, adding natural beauty to the space.<\/p>\n

\u201cI flew over it myself about five years ago,\u201d Howard shared, moved by seeing his tribute from above.<\/p>\n

Today, the woodland continues to grow\u2014a flourishing symbol of love and remembrance. Howard\u2019s quiet act of devotion has touched countless hearts and created a legacy that will endure for generations.\"\"\"\"\u00a0<\/picture><\/picture><\/p>\n
