‘Morning Joe’ Responds To Comcast Selling MSNBC: ‘We Could Be Fired Tomorrow’

MSNBC’s Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski reacted awkwardly on air to reports that Comcast may spin off its NBCUniversal cable channels—including MSNBC—potentially putting their show’s future in question. The Wall Street Journal reported Comcast will separate networks like MSNBC, CNBC, USA, and others, citing declining cable revenues.

While Scarborough joked nervously about possibly being fired, Brzezinski appeared less amused. In a surprising twist, the co-hosts also revealed they recently met with President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago—their first direct conversation in seven years. They discussed divisive issues such as abortion, mass deportations, and political retribution, aiming to “restart communications” despite their long-standing criticism of Trump. Brzezinski defended the meeting, saying dialogue is essential during such politically polarized times. The moment marks a notable shift in tone for Morning Joe, a show known for its past confrontations with Trump. Whether the show will survive Comcast’s restructuring or evolve in response to the political climate remains uncertain.
