60 Minutes host savagely calls out bosses on-air after they began supervising stories to do with Trump administration

60 Minutes host Scott Pelley criticized Paramount during Sunday’s episode, accusing the company of undermining the show’s journalistic independence.

Pelley praised former executive producer Bill Owens, who resigned over concerns that the network’s oversight—amid a merger requiring White House approval—was compromising editorial freedom.

While no stories were blocked, Pelley said the show’s ability to report controversial topics like the Trump administration and the Israel-Gaza war was being subtly constrained. He called Owens’ resignation a testament to his integrity. Meanwhile, Trump, who has often criticized the show, is suing CBS for $20 billion over a past interview.
