Why an Author Says Melania and Donald Trump Are ‘Separated’ — Inside the First Lady’s Long Absence from the White House

Melania Trump’s Absence Sparks Separation Rumors

Nearly four months into Donald Trump’s second term, Melania Trump has spent little time at the White House, reportedly fewer than 14 days. Her East Wing remains quiet, and her appearances in D.C. are rare, with sources saying she splits time between Mar-a-Lago and Trump Tower.

Despite initial claims she was “excited” for a second term, her minimal presence has fueled speculation. Author Michael Wolff bluntly stated the couple “live separate lives” and no longer share a traditional marriage.

Melania’s absence from major events and her behind-the-scenes renegotiation of her prenup—reportedly to secure her and son Barron’s future—adds to the narrative. Though she occasionally appears at public events, Melania seems to be shaping her own role, far removed from the traditional duties of a First Lady.
