Trump Planning To Add Grand Ballroom To White House

Former President Donald Trump has announced plans to personally fund and build a grand ballroom at the White House, aiming to elevate its stature to match other global seats of power. Trump shared the news on Truth Social, stating that previous presidents had hoped for such an addition, but lacked the experience to execute it. Citing his own expertise in constructing luxurious ballrooms, like those at Mar-a-Lago, Trump promised the project would be completed quickly, cost the taxpayers nothing, and reflect the White House’s grandeur. He originally offered the idea during President Biden’s term and previously under President Obama, but said he received no response. Now, as part of his second term, Trump intends to proceed with the construction himself, calling it a “fun” project amid broader global concerns.

The announcement coincided with one of the largest gatherings ever held at the White House, where Trump welcomed thousands of current and former officials, staffers, and their families to celebrate his return. The event on the South Lawn was marked by cheers of “USA!” and high energy, as Trump expressed gratitude for those who supported his administration. Officials hailed the rapid pace of political appointments, noting that over 3,200 roles have already been filled since Trump took office in January, with departments like Veterans Affairs reaching full staffing. According to Sergio Gor, Director of Presidential Personnel, the administration is achieving historic hiring milestones, and each appointee remains committed to Trump’s agenda to “make America great again.”
