Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed the Department of Justice and FBI are actively investigating the targeted shootings of two Minnesota Democratic lawmakers, one of whom was killed.
The FBI, led by Director Kash Patel, offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of suspect Vance L. Boelter.
President Donald Trump expressed sympathy and condemned the violence, promising full prosecution. Former Minnesota Vikings player Jack Brewer criticized Governor Tim Walz, blaming him for Minnesota’s chaos and calling for a “return to masculinity” and stronger family values. Boelter allegedly impersonated a police officer to enter the homes of Senator John Hoffman and former House Speaker Melissa Hortman, shooting them early Saturday; Hoffman survived, but Hortman and her husband were killed. Governor Walz labeled the attacks “politically motivated assassinations” but did not mention Boelter’s prior appointment under his administration. Brewer blamed Democratic leadership for fostering division and violence, urging a return to respect and unity in the state.
