President Donald Trump condemned the recent political assassinations in Minnesota, calling the violence “horrific” while criticizing Gov. Tim Walz as “a terrible governor” and “grossly incompetent.” Trump has not contacted Walz but said he may speak with other officials. He confirmed that his administration will be heavily involved in the investigation.

Attorney General Pam Bondi stated the DOJ and FBI are actively investigating the attacks, in which two Democratic lawmakers were shot. One of them, House Speaker Melissa Hortman, and her husband were killed in their home, as were State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife. The suspect, 57-year-old Vance Boelter, was captured after a two-day manhunt.

Former NFL player Jack Brewer blamed Walz’s leadership for the state’s decline, calling Minnesota “the capital of chaos.” Boelter reportedly had “No Kings” signs in his truck, a slogan linked to protests against federal immigration enforcement. Law enforcement officials said the suspect surrendered without incident and praised the coordinated effort leading to his arrest.
