Patel Releasing Documents Linked To FBI’s Trump ‘Russia Collusion’ Probe

FBI Director Kash Patel has delivered hundreds of declassified documents from the Crossfire Hurricane investigation to Congress, following a March 2025 executive order by former President Donald Trump. Nearly 700 pages, labeled the “Crossfire Hurricane Redacted Binder,” were also obtained by Just the News. The declassification marks the culmination of efforts that began in Trump’s final days in office but were blocked by the DOJ under President Biden.

Crossfire Hurricane, launched in 2016, investigated unproven claims of Trump-Russia collusion, fueled by the Steele dossier—funded through Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Trump had initially ordered the declassification in January 2021, but resistance from then-DOJ leadership stalled the release. Both Special Counsels Robert Mueller and John Durham later found no evidence supporting the original collusion claims. Durham’s report criticized the FBI’s reliance on unverified information and concluded that law enforcement had no credible evidence of collusion when the probe began. Trump’s latest order demands full transparency, calling the investigation politically motivated and deeply flawed.
