Trump Addresses Country After Ordering Military to Strike Iran’s Nuke Sites

In a nationally televised address, President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. military conducted successful precision strikes on Iran’s three major nuclear weapons facilities—Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. Trump declared the mission a “spectacular military success,” claiming the objective was to destroy Iran’s nuclear enrichment capabilities and neutralize the threat posed by what he called “the world’s number one state sponsor of terror.” He emphasized the long history of Iranian hostility toward the U.S. and Israel, blaming Iran for decades of violence, including attacks on American soldiers via roadside bombs. Trump asserted that Iran’s facilities were now “completely and totally obliterated” and warned that if Iran does not pursue peace, future U.S. strikes would be “far greater and a lot easier.”

The address followed Trump’s earlier suggestion, made via Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, that he would decide on military action within two weeks—a statement now seen as deliberate misdirection. The president noted Iran had recently withdrawn from peace talks, and Israeli intelligence had prompted preemptive strikes by Israel days earlier. Trump commended the U.S. military and praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli forces for their coordinated efforts. He warned Iran that it faces a choice between peace and further devastation, stating that additional targets remain and could be struck “in a matter of minutes.” Trump closed by emphasizing the unmatched capability of the U.S. military and reiterated that tonight’s operation sent a powerful message about America’s resolve.
