Homan Reveals Toll Border Czar Position Has Taken On His Personal Life

In a recent interview on Miranda Devine’s Pod Force One podcast, former ICE director and current border czar Tom Homan revealed that he is living apart from his wife due to ongoing death threats. “She’s someplace else,” Homan said, explaining that the threats have escalated since he returned to public service under former President Donald Trump. Despite the strain on his personal life, Homan expressed pride in his role and his continued commitment to border security. Homan, who previously served as acting ICE director during Trump’s first term, was asked to return to the role shortly after Trump’s reelection victory over Kamala Harris. “I was the first person he called,” Homan recalled. He said Trump told him, “You’ve been bitching about it for four years. Well, come back and fix it.” Homan described the call as a moment he couldn’t refuse.

Meanwhile, ICE agents detained 11 Iranian nationals this week, including Ribvar Karimi, a former sharpshooter in Iran’s elite military. Karimi was found in Locust, Alabama, in possession of an ID card from the Iranian army. He had overstayed a K-1 visa issued during the Biden administration and failed to update his immigration status, making him eligible for deportation. The arrests follow heightened tensions with Iran after recent U.S. strikes on its nuclear sites. DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin emphasized that the agency, under Trump’s renewed leadership, is taking a proactive stance to identify and remove suspected terrorists and violent extremists before they can pose a domestic threat.
