Voters ID Which Illegal Migrants They Want Trump To Focus On: Survey

A new Napolitan News Service survey shows broad bipartisan support for deporting illegal immigrants who have committed crimes (81%) or missed immigration hearings (67%). Voters also favor removing those recently arrived under the Biden administration or who are unemployed, while showing less support for deporting longtime residents or DACA recipients. The findings appear to bolster President Trump’s immigration agenda.

Meanwhile, the administration announced it will end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for approximately 500,000 Haitians, effective September 2, 2025. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem stated that environmental and safety conditions in Haiti have improved, and TPS no longer serves its intended temporary purpose.

The move triggered backlash from Democrats, who called it dangerous and inhumane. Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz warned it could cost lives, citing rampant gang violence in Haiti. Other lawmakers accused the administration of disregarding State Department travel warnings and endangering Haitian American communities.

Despite controversy, the administration framed the decision as restoring integrity to the immigration system.
