The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said it might consider arresting Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass after she reportedly interfered with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents during raids in the city.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News host Charlie Hurt on “Hannity” that “everything is on the table,” questioning whether Bass is protecting gang members or criminals terrorizing Los Angeles rather than American citizens.

McLaughlin highlighted that under President Trump and Secretary Kristi Noem, nearly 600 suspected terrorists and 2,700 members of the violent Tren de Aragua gang—known for sex trafficking and violence—have been arrested.

Meanwhile, Republicans blame Democratic rhetoric for increased violence against immigration agents. Following a shooting of a police officer near a Texas ICE facility, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blance warned of zero tolerance for assaults on federal officers and vowed full prosecution of offenders.

The officer was shot responding to suspicious individuals near a detention center in Texas; suspects were arrested after a standoff involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

President Trump praised ICE officers for their role in his mass deportation plan, promising more funding through his One Big Beautiful Bill Act to enhance enforcement efforts.
