BUENOS AIRES, Oct 16 (Reuters) – Former One Direction singer Liam Payne was found dead outside a hotel in Buenos Aires. The 31-year-old British musician reportedly fell from his third-floor balcony. Local police confirmed they were called to the hotel in the Palermo neighborhood, where they encountered reports of an “aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol.”

Emergency workers discovered Payne’s body in the hotel’s patio. MTV Latin America expressed their condolences on social media, stating, “Our hearts are absolutely broken, and we wish much light and strength for his family and loved ones.”

Payne gained fame as part of One Direction, which rose to prominence after finishing third on the British X Factor in 2010. The group disbanded in 2016 as members pursued solo careers. Nearby worker Hernan Palazzo remarked on the shaken community, noting the presence of police and fans.

Earlier that day, Payne shared a Snapchat video about enjoying his time in Argentina, mentioning activities like horse riding and polo.
