Bret Baier Shares Massive Update After Trump Development

Bret Baier opened Special Report on Tuesday under the chyron “Trump’s ‘Epstein Files Saga,’” drawing attention to mounting scrutiny not only over former President Donald Trump’s recent remarks but also Fox News’ coverage of the ongoing Epstein controversy. Baier reported that Trump had urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to release any documents she deems credible regarding Jeffrey Epstein, the late financier and convicted sex offender. Baier noted that the issue continues to divide Trump’s base, with many demanding full transparency.

The segment highlighted how the Epstein story remains persistent in public discourse. Baier handed off to correspondent David Spunt, underscoring the unresolved questions surrounding the matter. Central to the ongoing investigation is a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by watchdog group Judicial Watch, which is seeking the release of documents tied to Epstein, including the identities of his alleged clients and associates.

In a joint status report filed Monday, the Justice Department and Judicial Watch confirmed that the FBI had completed its initial searches and is now reviewing the results. However, no documents have been released yet, and searches related to communications involving FBI Director Kash Patel are reportedly still in progress, with no timeline provided for when any records might be disclosed.

A separate DOJ-FBI memo, obtained by Axios, stated that investigators found no credible evidence of blackmail or an Epstein “client list,” and concluded that no further investigation into uncharged third parties was warranted. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton criticized the agencies for what he called “contradictory messages.”

Meanwhile, Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate, remains incarcerated for child sex trafficking. Trump, who campaigned on a promise to fully expose Epstein’s connections, has thus far only released limited information. In March, attorney Alan Dershowitz claimed he knew the identities of some clients but said he was restricted from disclosing them due to judicial confidentiality orders.
