JUST IN: Republicans Notch

Republican David Schweikert has secured his eighth term in the U.S. House of Representatives,

defeating Democratic challenger Amish Shah in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District.

This district, encompassing north Phoenix, Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, and Paradise Valley, has traditionally leaned Republican.

However, recent trends suggested a potential shift toward the center. Schweikert’s victory reaffirms the GOP’s hold on this area.
