He warned the justices of consequences if they voted to restrict abortion rights, saying they would “pay the price.” Schumer later clarified he did not intend to threaten them. Despite an ethics complaint filed at the time, no action was taken. This investigation follows concerns over public officials’ rhetoric and its potential impact on judicial integrity.
