Vance Warns ‘Rogue’ Federal Judges Taking Power From Executive Branch

Vice President JD Vance warned federal judges who he believes are overstepping their authority to impede President Trump’s agenda. Courts have blocked Trump’s efforts on issues like birthright citizenship, federal grants, and agency reforms. A recent setback involved a judge restricting Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing Treasury data. Vance criticized these judges for interfering with the Executive Branch, comparing it to a judge controlling military or prosecutorial decisions. Trump expressed frustration, calling such rulings a “disgrace.” Republicans are rallying behind Trump, with some planning to introduce articles of impeachment against judges who have blocked his initiatives, like Judges McConnell and Engelmayer. However, securing the necessary votes for impeachment would be a challenge in the Senate. Experts suggest Trump’s rhetoric is largely symbolic, as judges have constitutional authority to review presidential actions.
