Boelter’s Wife Detained After Passport, Weapon Found in Car

Police apprehended Jenny Boelter, wife of accused Minnesota gunman Vance Luther Boelter, during a traffic stop on June 14 in Onamia, Minnesota. Officers found a handgun, ammunition, cash, and passports in the vehicle. Jenny was questioned but not arrested.

Vance Boelter, 57, was arrested on June 15 after a two-day manhunt. He is suspected of killing Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, as well as shooting State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette, who survived. Surveillance footage showed Boelter wearing police tactical gear, falsely identifying himself as an officer before attacking the victims.

Authorities found multiple firearms, tactical gear, and a list of public officials in Boelter’s possession. The Hennepin County District Court charged him with four felony counts of second-degree murder with intent, carrying a potential sentence of up to 40 years.

Officials say Boelter’s attack was a planned assault targeting lawmakers. Jenny Boelter’s role remains under investigation.
