Clinton Strategist Predicts Disaster For Dems If AOC Is ’28 Nominee

Democratic strategist Mark Penn, who advised former President Bill Clinton, dismissed the idea of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez becoming the Democratic nominee in 2028.

Speaking on Fox News with guest host Kellyanne Conway, Penn said AOC would only carry one state if nominated, comparing it to past landslide defeats in 1972 and 1984.

He acknowledged her strong left-wing support but warned the party risks alienating voters by moving too far left. Penn also ruled out Vice President Kamala Harris making a comeback in a presidential race, stating she wouldn’t win a primary.

However, AOC may pursue a Senate bid, as a Data for Progress poll shows her leading Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer by 19 points in a potential 2028 primary. The survey indicates a shift in Democratic base sentiment, with Ocasio-Cortez gaining traction.
