Tennessee Family Finds Thousands in McDonald’s Bag—and Returns It Without Hesitation
For the Terry family, a routine McDonald’s breakfast run turned into a moral test. After picking up their drive-thru order in Tennessee, they were miles away when they realized their bag didn’t contain biscuits—it was packed with thousands of dollars in cash, meant for a bank deposit.
The mistake? A McDonald’s employee had accidentally handed over the restaurant’s deposit bag.
Instead of pocketing the money, Stacey Terry and her husband didn’t hesitate. “As soon as he said it was their deposit, my first instinct was: get in the car and take it back,” she told News 5. “I couldn’t live with myself.”
Back at the restaurant, a shaken employee gratefully accepted the returned funds. McDonald’s management publicly praised the Terrys for their honesty.
Though the Terrys didn’t seek recognition, their story quickly spread—a rare reminder that integrity still thrives, even in the most unexpected places.
As for the breakfast? Probably cold. But the warmth from their actions will last far longer.
