Dem Strategist Carville Shreds Ocasio-Cortez, Says ‘Woke’ Won’t Win Elections

Democratic strategist James Carville criticized Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders in a recent interview, arguing their progressive, “woke” agenda won’t help Democrats win elections.

He dismissed their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour as counterproductive, saying it reinforces the party’s image as elitist and disconnected from most Americans. Carville claimed progressives only impress journalists and rarely defeat Republicans in elections.

He emphasized that real political success lies in winning, not just making noise. Carville urged Democrats to focus on helping working Americans rather than appealing to coastal, urban elites.

He warned that the party must broaden its appeal to compete nationally in 2028.
