Donald Trump reveals he and Elon Musk want to give US taxpayers ‘DOGE dividends’

Donald Trump and Elon Musk have proposed a plan called “DOGE dividends,” where U.S. citizens could receive a share of government savings. Musk, tasked with cutting federal spending, aims to save $1 trillion annually by reducing agencies, firing employees, and canceling contracts. Trump suggested giving 20% of Musk’s savings back to taxpayers, which could equate to $5,000 per person annually. Musk’s team has already halted several programs, including USAID and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The idea is to either distribute savings directly or offer tax cuts, with the goal of reducing the deficit and inflation.
