Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, appeared at the White House with a black eye, joking it wasn’t from France before revealing that his 5-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii, gave it to him while playing.
Musk was marking his final day as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), standing alongside President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.
Trump praised Musk’s work, saying the American public recognized his patriotism. Musk emphasized that his departure doesn’t signal the end of DOGE, calling it a philosophy that will continue to grow. He predicted $1 trillion in future savings from the agency’s efforts. Musk also admired Trump’s redesign of the Oval Office, which now features 24-karat gold decor. Trump presented Musk with a “gold key to the White House,” and Musk vowed to remain a close adviser while supporting DOGE’s mission to reduce federal waste and fraud by up to $8 trillion.
