Jack Brewer, former Minnesota Vikings and University of Minnesota football player, strongly criticized Gov.
Tim Walz following the shootings of two Democratic lawmakers and their spouses. Brewer called Minnesota “the capital of chaos” and blamed Walz’s leadership and the Democratic Party’s direction for the state’s turmoil. He lamented the loss of respectful discourse and called for a “return to masculinity” to protect families.
The suspect, Vance Luther Boelter, 57, who previously held appointments under Democratic governors including Walz, allegedly impersonated a police officer to carry out the attacks—fatally shooting former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, and seriously injuring Sen. John Hoffman and his wife.
Walz condemned the shootings as “politically motivated assassination” and activated the State Emergency Operations Center. Brewer condemned what he called the Democrats’ far-left shift and attacks on dissenting voices, describing the violence as rooted in evil.
