FBI warns iPhone and Android users to hang up the call if you hear this

The FBI is warning smartphone users about a new scam targeting iPhone and Android devices. Fraudsters spoof caller IDs to impersonate technical support, banks, law enforcement, or U.S. Customs. They trick victims into transferring money or installing malware. These scammers use urgency to pressure victims into hasty decisions. Reports have surfaced of fraudsters posing as police officers, claiming warrants or missed jury duty. Similarly, CBP warns of scammers posing as employees seeking personal information. The FBI advises hanging up on unsolicited calls, regardless of their source, and contacting local authorities directly if necessary. Always stay cautious when receiving unexpected calls, and never share sensitive information.
