Indiana Woman Arrested for Alleged Threats Against Former President Trump

Federal authorities have arrested 50-year-old Nathalie Rose Jones of Indiana, charging her with making violent threats against former President Donald Trump. The arrest comes amid growing concern over political violence in an increasingly polarized climate.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced the charges in a video statement, declaring the Department of Justice has “zero tolerance” for threats against current or former presidents.

According to federal court documents, Jones began posting anti-Trump messages online in early August, which escalated into explicit threats. Her decision to travel from Indiana to Washington, D.C., raised red flags for investigators.

On August 15, Secret Service agents interviewed Jones. She allegedly called Trump a “terrorist” and a “Nazi,” admitted she wanted to cause harm, and claimed to have access to a weapon. The following day, she participated in a protest near the White House.

Although Jones later recanted her intentions, prosecutors moved forward, citing the seriousness of her actions. She now faces charges including threatening the president and transmitting threats across state lines—serious offenses that carry significant penalties.

The DOJ emphasized that while free speech is protected, threats of violence are not—and such behavior will be prosecuted without hesitation.
