In response to devastating floods across Texas Hill Country, country legend George Strait hosted a moving benefit concert on Sunday, July 27, raising over $6.25 million for relief efforts.
Held at Estancia at Thunder Valley in Boerne, Texas, the sold-out event welcomed 1,200 guests for a powerful night of music and support, organized by Strait and his longtime Vaqueros del Mar partner Tom Cusick.
The evening opened with performances by Texas Jamm Band, Kyle Park, William Beckmann, Hudson Westbrook, and Ray Benson. Strait and Cusick addressed the crowd, followed by an uplifting message from Pastor Max Lucado. Governor Greg Abbott praised the heroic efforts of first responders, who rescued over 1,000 people.
A live auction further boosted donations before headliners Wade Bowen, Randy Houser, Dean Dillon, Riley Green, and Jamey Johnson took the stage. Strait closed with a heartfelt 15-song set, featuring “The Fireman” with Garth Brooks and “Give It Away” with Johnson.
The night ended with “The Cowboy Rides Away.”
Proceeds support the Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund, helping impacted families directly. To donate, visit the official Vaqueros del Mar website.
