GOP’s Burchett Makes Head-Turning Claim About ‘Epstein Files’

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) recently claimed in a NewsNation interview that a client list connected to Jeffrey Epstein once existed but was likely destroyed by the Biden administration. Burchett expressed skepticism over a recent Justice Department memo that concluded Epstein never maintained such a list and reiterated that Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges. Burchett implied that powerful figures may have influenced the destruction of these files to avoid exposure.

Despite public speculation, Burchett rejected suggestions that former President Trump was ever connected to the alleged client list. He argued that if any incriminating evidence against Trump had existed, it would have been released immediately by Biden’s administration. He suggested instead that the names on the list likely include Hollywood elites and world leaders, adding that global economic disruptions shouldn’t prevent justice from being served.

Burchett criticized Attorney General Pam Bondi for previously suggesting that key Epstein-related files were still intact. He stated that she had no proof the files existed and likely overpromised when indicating she would release explosive material. According to Burchett, “they all got out there, got a little excited,” but he now believes the files were never released because they were destroyed.

The Biden White House and DOJ have dismissed ongoing conspiracy theories, stating that a comprehensive review found no evidence of a client list and affirmed Epstein’s death as a suicide. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized the Trump administration withheld some files due to graphic content.

Meanwhile, Epstein’s former attorney, David Schoen, publicly reaffirmed that Epstein had “no information” harmful to Trump. He stated that during their time together, Epstein denied possessing any material involving Trump. Both the DOJ and FBI confirmed they have no further details to release, reinforcing official conclusions about Epstein’s death and records.
