Henry Winkler, celebrated for his role as Fonzie on Happy Days, overcame a challenging childhood with undiagnosed dyslexia and harsh criticism from his parents. Determined to be a different parent, Winkler emphasized understanding and nurturing his children, who were also diagnosed with dyslexia. He co-authored the Hank Zipzer book series to inspire children with learning challenges, believing every child has greatness. Despite his fame, he prioritized a normal upbringing for his kids, banning show business and fostering communication. Diagnosed with dyslexia at 31, Winkler shares a message of perseverance: “A learning challenge doesn’t have to stop you.” Honored for his work with children, he views his books and family as his greatest achievements.
