An Iran-linked hacking group claims to have stolen 100 GB of emails from associates of former President Donald Trump, including Roger Stone, Susie Wiles, Trump attorney Lindsey Halligan, and Stormy Daniels. The group, operating under the pseudonym “Robert,” has not disclosed a release timeline. U.S. cybersecurity officials, including CISA and FBI Director Kash Patel, have condemned the threat as a “smear campaign” and vowed prosecution for any national security breaches.
Some of the group’s previous leaks were verified by Reuters, including emails discussing legal arrangements involving RFK Jr. and settlement talks with Daniels. Tehran denies involvement, though the Justice Department previously indicted three Iranian IRGC members for election-related cyberattacks.
The leak threat follows escalating U.S.-Iran tensions after Trump ordered strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities in June. Trump claimed Israel confirmed total destruction of Iran’s Fordow site and warned Iran against restarting uranium enrichment. CIA Director John Ratcliffe said Iran’s nuclear program was “significantly damaged.”
Trump hinted at a possible upcoming U.S.-Iran meeting on nuclear issues, stating, “We may sign an agreement, or we may not.”
