Zelenskyy will lead Ukraine’s delegation, and Vance will also attend. President Trump has expressed interest in meeting with Zelenskyy in Washington, D.C., and may also talk to Russian President Putin to help end the war. Trump reiterated his goal to bring peace to the ongoing conflict, which started with Russia’s 2022 invasion. Vance recently discussed his political future in an interview, commenting on the deadly plane crash near Washington, D.C. He also addressed the impact of DEI policies on air traffic control staffing shortages, a topic raised by President Trump following the crash.
