House Speaker Mike Johnson praised President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” as the most conservative legislation ever crafted by Congress. In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Johnson said the bill represents a unified Republican effort to deliver on Trump’s America First agenda. Developed over 14 months, Johnson emphasized that the bill includes massive tax cuts, government spending reductions, and work requirements for Medicaid, projecting $1.6 trillion in savings.
He described the legislation as “jet fuel” for the U.S. economy, promising that the average American could see an additional $10,000 in take-home pay. Key features include eliminating taxes on tips and overtime, tax credits for seniors, and incentives for job seekers. Johnson noted the bill imposes work requirements for able-bodied adults receiving Medicaid to preserve the program for the truly needy.
He emphasized that the bill is “not just a House or Senate bill,” but a product of public demand and a “clear mandate” from the 2024 election. Johnson vowed to pass it by July 4, saying, “There’s something in this bill for everyone.”
