Judge Formally Dismisses Case Against Hunter Biden In Delaware

A Delaware judge officially ended the case against Hunter Biden, two days after President Biden granted him a full pardon for federal gun and tax crimes. U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika terminated the case, citing the absence of binding precedent. Despite the pardon, Special Counsel David Weiss argued that the charges should remain on record, as they were based on probable cause. Weiss also rejected claims of selective prosecution and objected to dismissing the indictment. The Biden administration has not yet received the official pardon, but the case is now set to be dropped. Hunter Biden has also requested the dismissal of his tax case in California. Following the pardon, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre defended the decision, stating that President Biden had wrestled with it and was guided by his belief in justice.
