Both districts are conservative, suggesting Republican retention in the April 1 general elections. Patronis, endorsed by Trump, faces Democrat Gay Valimont in the 1st District. Fine, who also backs Trump, overcame two GOP opponents and will compete in the 6th District. Both are expected to strengthen the GOP’s slim majority in the House, advancing Trump’s legislative goals.
