Justice Department Hiring Attorneys Seen As ‘Loyal’ To Trump

The Justice Department is assembling a legal team to defend key parts of President Trump’s agenda, including immigration changes, federal workforce restructuring, and expanding executive power.

The department has removed career attorneys seen as obstacles and replaced them with political appointees aligned with Trump’s vision.

Some hires have top conservative credentials, while others are recent graduates with ties to GOP state officials. The effort reflects a broader plan to reduce the influence of career staff and place loyalists in policy-shaping roles.

Critics say dissent is being stifled, leading veteran attorneys to leave. An executive order aims to convert many civil service roles into political appointments.

DOJ spokesperson Gates McGavick said the department is executing Trump’s agenda, while reports say Trump seeks to fully align the federal workforce with his second-term goals.
