Michigan Senator Gary Peters Announces Retirement, Leaving Key Senate Seat Open

Detroit-based rapper Dajua Blanding, known as Dank Demoss, is suing ride-sharing company Lyft after a driver refused to pick her up, claiming she “couldn’t fit in the car.” The incident, shared by Blanding on social media, shows a Lyft driver in a Mercedes Benz stating there was no space in the car for her. When asked, the driver confirmed her size was the issue and advised her to order a larger car. Blanding, feeling discriminated against, is moving forward with legal action, citing Michigan’s laws against weight discrimination. Lyft condemned the incident, emphasizing their commitment to equality, but the case has sparked debate about discrimination and the challenges of accommodating larger passengers in ride-sharing services. Blanding hopes her lawsuit will raise awareness of the difficulties faced by plus-size individuals in accessing transportation.
