She cited a controversial “86 47” Instagram post by former FBI Director James Comey, which many interpreted as a veiled threat.
Comey was questioned by the Secret Service and deleted the post. Noem also referenced a 2024 assassination attempt on Trump and rising threats requiring enhanced security. Immigration czar Tom Homan now receives 24/7 DHS protection, reportedly costing up to \$1 million monthly. Officials say the threats are escalating due to aggressive political discourse and doxxing.
