‘Morning Joe’ Responds To Comcast Selling MSNBC: ‘We Could Be Fired Tomorrow’

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” hosts awkwardly joked about reports that Comcast might sell the network after a Wall Street Journal article revealed plans to spin off NBCUniversal’s cable channels, including MSNBC. Comcast is reportedly moving forward with a plan to separate entertainment and news channels, generating $7 billion in revenue. Joe Scarborough joked about the uncertainty of their futures, suggesting they might be fired, while Mika Brzezinski added, “Or tomorrow,” with a forced laugh. The discussion followed news of President-elect Donald Trump’s post-election meeting with the hosts, which marked the first meeting with Trump in seven years. During the meeting, they discussed issues like abortion and deportation, with Scarborough and Brzezinski aiming to restart communication with Trump. Trump later described the meeting as cordial, emphasizing the importance of a free, fair, and open press for America’s success.
