‘No One Wants to Go Against Trump’: Insiders Say GOP Will Support Cabinet Nominees

Despite opposition from Senate Republicans, the Trump administration is confident that three controversial cabinet picks—Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services, Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence, and Kash Patel for FBI Director—will be confirmed. The Senate will vote after the confirmation hearings conclude this week. Kennedy, particularly opposed for his anti-vaccine stance, faced intense questioning from Senate Republicans but advanced through the Finance Committee. His confirmation is still expected despite concerns about his history with vaccines and allegations of sexual misconduct. Gabbard and Patel also faced challenges, but Trump insiders remain confident all three will ultimately be confirmed, citing previous confirmations of scandal-ridden nominees as precedent.
