Paramount Global has reportedly offered $15 million to settle former President Donald Trump’s lawsuit against CBS News, but Trump’s legal team is demanding over $25 million and a formal apology.
The lawsuit stems from Trump’s claim that CBS deceptively edited a 2024 campaign interview with Kamala Harris. Trump initially sued for $10 billion, later increasing the demand to $20 billion.
The case has caused internal turmoil at CBS, including the resignation of CEO Wendy McMahon. Reports say Paramount’s controlling shareholder, Shari Redstone, pushed for a settlement to smooth a potential sale.
Settlement talks are ongoing, with no resolution yet reached.
