FBI Director Kash Patel told Fox News that upcoming revelations about FBI informants present during the January 6 Capitol riots will “shock” the public.
Patel confirmed that the agency is finalizing a report addressing long-standing questions, criticizing former Director Chris Wray for not providing clear answers to Congress earlier.
Patel stressed that Americans “deserve” the full truth. Meanwhile, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino revealed that materials from James Comey’s tenure were recently discovered in a hidden room. He said these documents were not processed through normal procedures and are being declassified, though the process is complex due to involvement from other intelligence agencies. Bongino criticized Comey, whose cryptic Instagram post—featuring seashells spelling “8647”—was interpreted by some as a message aimed at Trump. The number “86” can mean “eliminate,” and “47” refers to Trump possibly becoming the 47th president. The developments fuel further political tension over the FBI’s past conduct.
