FBI Director Kash Patel claimed last week that the bureau concealed investigations into Hillary Clinton during her 2016 presidential campaign. In a Fox News interview with Maria Bartiromo, Patel said former FBI Director James Comey unilaterally chose not to pursue charges related to Clinton’s use of a private email server, bypassing the DOJ’s authority.
Patel alleged Comey intentionally distorted facts and omitted key information, both during the Clinton probe and the now-debunked Trump-Russia investigation. He accused Comey of abusing the FISA process and hiding evidence, some of which Deputy Director Dan Bongino says was recently discovered in a previously unreported room filled with unprocessed documents.
Bongino emphasized efforts to declassify the findings, noting that much of the material wasn’t properly entered into FBI records. Both officials framed their disclosures as part of a larger push for transparency and public trust.
Comey, recently in the spotlight for a cryptic Instagram post spelling “8647,” is suspected by some officials of targeting Trump with veiled messages.
