Police Finally Gave An Update On Missing X Factor Star Levi Davis, Who Is Missing For Two Years

Two years after his disappearance, police have released an update on Levi Davis, the missing star of The X Factor.

The rugby union star, who was 24 at the time, disappeared in 2022 after last being spotted on CCTV in Barcelona on October 29.

The last time he was seen interacting with his friends or family was at 10:05 p.m., when he was spotted leaving The Old Irish Pub on La Rambla. After that, police started looking into where he was.

Davis, who participated in the 2019 celebrity edition of Simon Cowell’s singing competition, had only £35 in his wallet and no change of clothes when he arrived in the Spanish city from Ibiza.

Police divers conducted a search in Barcelona’s harbor, but the court probe was unsuccessful. Fears that Davis was the man that crew members saw struggling in the water on a passenger cruise liner prompted this undersea search.

Nevertheless, the case is still open and unresolved at this time.

Additionally, court officials stated this week that their investigation is on hold and will only be resumed in the event that new information becomes available.

According to The Mirror, police stated that they have “nothing new to offer” and so have no intention of using the approaching milestone anniversary of the former Bath winger’s disappearance to issue a public call for information.

A spokesperson for the investigating magistrate at the city court, which had been probing Davis’ disappearance, said on Thursday (24 October): “There are no updates in this case. It’s still provisionally archived.”

The Mossos d’Esquadra, the Catalan police force Levi’s disappearance was reported to, also said: “Our investigation remains open, but we have nothing new we can tell you about.”

“There are no plans for a public appeal for information coinciding with the second anniversary of Levi’s disappearance.”

And a police source added to The Mirror: “No one is actively working on this case police-wise or in the courts on a day-to-day basis. That doesn’t mean police won’t look into any new information that comes their way. But the last big push was 17 months ago with the port searches.”

A documentary regarding the rugby player’s disappearance was being discussed with Davis’ family earlier this year.

A close source to his mom, Julie, was quoted in May saying she had been approached by a production company, adding: “We are waiting for the opportunity that affords the best chance of finding out what happened.”
