Popular singer has died in a freak accident on stage

Brazilian rock star Ayres Sasaki, 35, tragically died on July 13 during a concert in Salinopolis. A wet fan hugged him during a soundcheck, causing an electric shock that killed him instantly.

Authorities are investigating the incident. The Solar Hotel, where the concert took place, expressed condolences and promised cooperation.

Sasaki, an architect and urban planner, had been married to his wife, Mariana, for 11 months. Friends remember him as a talented musician and kind-hearted person.

His close friend, Adriano Freitas, called him the “king of encores,” and comedian Natto Almeida praised his good nature and lasting legacy.
