Senate Rejects Resolution to Block Arms Sale to Israel.

The U .S. Senate rejected three bills by Senator Bernie Sanders aimed at blocking a $20 billion arms sale to Israel.

Sanders introduced the resolutions in response to the ongoing war in Gaza, which has killed over 43,000 people, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

In a Senate speech, Sanders condemned the humanitarian crisis and accused the U.S. of supporting “mass starvation.” His main resolution failed in a 79–18 vote.

He criticized Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu for restricting aid and using excessive military force, and blamed the Biden administration for not holding Israel accountable. Sanders argued the U.S. is violating laws by sending weapons to a country accused of human rights abuses.
