Suspect In Murder Of Minn. Dem Lawmaker Blamed Gov. Walz: Report

Minnesota assassination suspect Vance Boelter wrote a handwritten letter blaming Democratic Governor Tim Walz for the deadly shootings he carried out, sources familiar with the investigation told Alpha News. The letter, described as a confession and addressed to FBI Director Kash Patel, was found inside a Buick that Boelter purchased just hours after attacking Minnesota state Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, and fatally shooting Minnesota legislator and Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark. Following the shootings, authorities launched the largest manhunt in Minnesota’s history, ultimately arresting Boelter near his home in Green Isle, Minnesota. Boelter faces multiple charges, including the murders of Melissa Hortman and her husband and the shootings of Senator Hoffman and his wife, both of whom are recovering.

Charging documents reveal that Boelter admitted in the handwritten note, signed “Dr. Vance Luther Boelter,” to being the “shooter at large in Minnesota involved in the two shootings.” The documents also state Boelter bought a Buick and an e-bike for $900 from an unknown individual at a Minneapolis bus stop, who later drove him to a U.S. Bank branch where he withdrew $2,200. Surveillance footage showed Boelter wearing a cowboy hat, an image the FBI later publicized during the manhunt. Security footage from his north Minneapolis residence also captured him wearing the hat. Notably, Governor Walz’s name was absent from a typed “hit list” found with Boelter, which included numerous Democratic politicians and abortion facilities, according to Alpha News.
